The History & Future

Hi anyone who took time out of their day to read this,

First... a breif history:

Layeredy was founded in 2021 with a server hosting company (which you can read the history of here). After hosting became such a difficult and expensive market to get into we decided to move to a SaaS model with our first planned project being Uptime. We have since experimented with products such as Backup & Docs (now discontinued) and our now largest product Announce.

I started getting into software development and small business management as a hobby in ~2020 during the COVID lockdowns and while I still enjoy working on projects like Layeredy; I just don't have the time or motivation to work on them as much since I'm still a student. Projects like Layeredy are probably not going anywhere for now but there will be some changes to how everything operates. More than likely, less updates will happen and when they do they will often be small. Layeredy is and always has been a passion project. Even with that, I have started working on Changes; a changelog software. I have no guarentee when or if it will ever release.

The future of Uptime

Chances are, Uptime will likely not release until 2026 or 2027. I still recommend using an open source alternative or trying out an older version of Uptime (1x or 2x).

The future of Announce

Announce isn't going anywhere for now; but there are currently no updates planned other than the backend is being recoded to be more stable (more info on that will be released sometime soon). If you would like to support the future of Announce please check out Announce Pro

Plans for Changes

Changes is designed to be a free & simple software for announcing changes to your community easily and reliably. There is currently no roadmap for Changes.
